Quinn Armstrong’s writing and direction are impressive throughout, delivering a more meditative film than expected. Yes, there are horror elements involving ghosts and gore but the deep dive into Pat’s psyche and mentality is more of the focus here.

There's a conversion/aversion therapy trend in queer horror, but The Exorcism of Saint Patrick is doing its own thing, from great gore effects to beautiful exterior shots and even a fat gay teen main character (yay diverse representation!)
