In a dystopian society ruled by a oppressive totalitarian regime, somewhere in Latin America in a near future, condemned to live in hunger within the walls that surround the city of Gabhan. Alba is part of a group who smuggles medicine and water from beyond the wall, clandestinely aiding hospitals across the city. Her Godmother, Lucre, struggles as she tries to save Alba, risking her own life on a net of human trafficking across the border. Alba, convinced there's a better alternative, refuses to leave her people behind. Lucre soon finds out that lying is her only option, but that doing so will embark them on an adventure across the border that will change their lives for ever.
