In "The Family Plan 2," it's the holiday season and Dan (Mark Wahlberg) has planned the perfect vacation for his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their kids to celebrate overseas -- until a mysterious figure from his past (Kit Harington) shows up with unfinished business. An international game of cat-and-mouse ensues as Dan and his family battle, bicker and bond their way through a series of bank heists, holiday hijinks and car chases amid scenic European terrain.

The setpieces are sloppy and unexciting to the extreme, and most of them, like a low-energy fight aboard a double-decker bus, are shapeless to the point that they simply end instead of building to a climactic beat.

It was just a bit boring, so I decided to play scrabble instead. The first film was fun…..in this installment, I just did not care about the family at all. And the whole revenge thing was silly. Please don’t make a third one.

Rating: 5.2/10 A predictable sequel retreading the "family vacation gone wrong" formula with higher stakes but less fun. Highlights - European Setting: Nice change of scenery; adds personal stakes with Dan's brother Finn. - Solid Cast: Michelle Monaghan shines; Kit Harington chews scenery as villain. - Decent Action: Paris car chases are competent; production values are solid. Criticisms - Formulaic Plot: Tired "surprise family member villain" trope; underdeveloped heist. - Phoning It In: Mark Wahlberg seems uninvested; kids feel sidelined. - Lacks Novelty: Relies on manufactured drama; feels like streaming filler. Verdict A strictly average sequel with safe action-comedy. European setting and Harington's villainy provide some spark, but generic script and lack of surprises make it forgettable. Fine for casual Apple TV+ watch.

Had to stop watching when the mom was saying how an amazing job she could get will upset the family. Ugh read the room. It is 2025 and women's rights are in peril, we don't need the media downgrading women's ambition and desire to work outside the home. It is not 1950 and no one wants to see this drivel. Wake up Hollywood. I hope someone important reads this.
