A slasher film with a sardonic twist, "The Girl in the Photographs" doesn't quite revive an etiolated genre, but it does have its moments. Go to Full Review

David L Aug 31 Ok slasher pic. I watched because of the names attached to it (Wes Craven produced, Oz Perkins co-wrote). I feel like there is a really great horror movie hiding in here. I’d like to see the version that Oz Perkins writes and directs all by himself. I love Wes Craven but it’s a bit of a shame that this is the last movie he produced before he passed away. It could have been a way better movie than it is. See more John H 10/04/2024 This was a fun movie to watch. An above average thrasher with a surprise (to me) ending. It was actually better than a lot of bigger budget horror movies out there. I was surprised I had not heard of it before now! See more 04/03/2022 It's pretty lame. Lots of buildup with very little payoff. Deeply unsatisfying as entertainment or art or commentary. It's not especially shocking or uplifting or subversive or fascinating or... anything to stand out. Nor does it feel like just a derivative rehash that stands on the shoulders of giants to make something great. It's not great. It's not even good. It's just bland and mediocre but not bad enough to be "so bad it's good". It's just deeply mediocre and disappointing. Talented people seem to be involved. I hope they keep making other things and learn from the errors of this script, the largest one being that the script has no idea what it wants to achieve it seems to be fine achieving nothing except promising the audience, falsely, that if it hangs on, it will get something. The final nail in the coffin is for how smarmy and smug the script seems to be in vibe and energy, it has almost nothing to say or insights to offer. It's just smug because who cares. See more 06/04/2021 Good and enjoyable slasher movie. Not as good as Scream of Halloween, but there's that "original slasher movie" vibe. However, the killers are kind of lame and they don't really have any motives for their killing spree. Even if the ending is disappointing, it's still an enjoyable movie. See more 09/23/2020 it's a pretty decent horror film and would recommend it See more steve d 07/20/2020 Little story and certainly nothing interesting. See more Read all reviews
