Mid-20-something Jane Darwin (Julie Kavner) is a librarian without much of a life outside of her work. She's also smart, though, and suddenly finds out she can use her brains to excel on a game show hosted by Jackie Leroy (Jack Carter). In fact, she's so intelligent she keeps winning. Things are perfect until she begins to fall in love with her competitor, Mark Linden (Frank Stell). Soon, Jane begins to worry that her winning streak could alienate her from Mark forever.
