It’s not just a movie about grief and love—it’s about fate, timing, and learning when to move on. Coming from a culture where we believe in matching horoscopes before marriage, I saw something deeper in the story. In Sri Lanka, it’s believed that if two people’s horoscopes don’t align, their relationship could bring misfortune—or even lead to death. That made me look at Harriet and Max differently. They loved each other, but maybe they were never meant to be. Maybe fate (or the universe) was trying to separate them all along, and the accident was its way of stepping in. The time-travel triggered by music was more than a sci-fi element—it felt like grief refusing to let go. But when Harriet finally says no to Max and chooses to move forward, the entire timeline changes. Max lives. There’s no accident. It’s like she broke a cycle and realigned with the life she was truly meant to have. Then there’s David—calm, present, and real. No time travel, no tragic backstory. Just someone who shows up when she’s ready. Maybe he was the one she was always supposed to find. This movie hit me hard. It’s emotional, deep, and quietly powerful. It’s sweet romantic story. They can play more with the idea of time travel but I think they just more focus on how to letting go of the past. And what meant for you meant for you. On paper, *The Greatest Hits* should be a home run. A romantic drama with a nostalgic playlist? Sign me up. But, man… the execution? Not so great. The biggest issue? Zero chemistry between the leads. And for a romance, that’s kind of a deal-breaker. The concept itself is pretty cool, and I *wanted* to love it—but the story drags, and I just couldn’t bring myself to care about the characters. Maybe that’s on me, but it’s hard to feel invested when the central couple has all the spark of a wet match. There are some decent moments, and the music keeps things from totally falling apart, but overall, it’s more "background noise" than "greatest hit." Such a shame—this could’ve been something special.
