      The Haunting of Sharon Tate

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

The Haunting of Sharon Tate dishonors the events it seeks to dramatize with a poorly acted and offensively exploitative take on real-life tragedy.

Aidan W This movie felt really boring, and fails to be a home invasion film or a crime documentary Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/25/23 Full Review Rebekah S Sometimes you don't crave a Sacher Torte; you want a Twinkie or one of those pink snowballs you find only in convenience stores. Sure, this movie has all the old formula chestnuts - - the tormented mother protecting her child, the Uber-skeptical husband - - but you have to love the retro nostalgia (shades of Poltergeist) and I'm pretty sure I want that late 1980s hairstyle sported by Sharon Lawrence at the movie's start. Sometimes, against all odds in the favor of pretension, only a Twinkie can satisfy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/25/23 Full Review Mac M Hrm, I think i understood what Duff was trying to archive with this flick, but dayum, that was terrible. Not even worth her time and $$$. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/23 Full Review Albert T Akzeptabel. Durchschnitt! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/24/22 Full Review Audience Member Don't believe all the critics shaming the movie. It is smart and disturbing and really scary. Worth watching for sure. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The credits song actually being Mansons is highly offensive and should be removed. Besides that, the movie is meh. The camera work and the production design was better than the rest. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com Don't just look at real-life tragedies and try to exploit them...the ending is just so atrocious. Rated: F Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times [A] run-of-the-mill home invasion thriller, and while Farrands is a solid genre craftsman - as evidenced by his similarly creepy true-crime film from earlier this year, "The Amityville Murders" - his taste remains suspect. Apr 5, 2019 Full Review Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com The film is appalling from start to finish. Rated: 0/4 Apr 5, 2019 Full Review Paul Lê Nightmare on Film Street Ultimately doesn't work as either as a home invasion movie, or as a documentary. What it really feels like is true-crime fanfiction with a lofty but misguided concept. Rated: 4/10 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Luke Whiston TheShiznit.co.uk It's a shame spiral all the way to the bottom of the barrel. You can make your own helter skelter jokes. Rated: C Jan 8, 2020 Full Review Javier Perez Cine Premiere An execution of poor resources with poor performances. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 0.5/5 Dec 10, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
