A group of women came together in the 1970s to form a professional football team called the Houston Herricanes. These groundbreaking ladies came to the field with little to no experience and left having been a part of the first full-tackle women's football league. Coming from all different walks of life, this diverse group found camaraderie in the unit they built together. Though they were often ridiculed, they stuck with it for as long as finances would allow and they made history even if it hasn't been told yet.

Mark Jackson Epoch Times Women eventually find their own way to play formerly all-male sports. This very fine documentary is the story of the first American women footballers. Rated: 3.5/5 Nov 23, 2024 Full Review Louisa Moore Screen Zealots With its timely conversations about the state of women’s sports and a boost of feel-good nostalgia, this unknown story about the first women’s full tackle football league in the 70s not only deserves to be told, but is a truly outstanding documentary. Apr 3, 2023 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest For as entertaining as it is, the film may be most resonant about how powerful a community can be when it comes together, whether it’s in the form of a football team or an entire culture understanding what everyone can bring to the table. Mar 19, 2023 Full Review Alan French Sunshine State Cineplex The passion from Kuan’s direction and attention to detail shines through and opens the door for future filmmakers to continue telling this essential story. Rated: 7/10 Mar 19, 2023 Full Review Seth Freilich Pajiba It’s the perfect kind of documentary, introducing you to something you likely have never heard of, rooting it in current-day matters, with a host of compelling and interesting talking heads Mar 17, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
