An animated Disney adventure follows disfigured Quasimodo (Tom Hulce), the bell-ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, who bides his time locked away in a tower. With only gargoyles to keep him company, Quasimodo longs to be with other people, leading to his chance encounter with the enchanting Gypsy Esmeralda (Demi Moore). I’ve started watching “The Hunchback Of Notre Dame” more recently since 2020 when I started using Disney+, & I totally understand why it’s not the most popular Disney movie ever. However, as someone who grew up in a Christian household, I will give “The Hunchback Of Notre Dame” credit for being the only Disney movie to tackle the dark side of religion in the most serious manner the way they did back in 1996.
