What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Hunting Ground isn't director Kirby Dick's strongest work as a filmmaker, but the movie's powerful message more than trumps any technical weaknesses.

Kyle M Investigative documentarian Kirby Dick continues his specialized topical exposure from defiled church to dishonored military onto the primal grounds where those roots took place in universities, with slight missed opportunity in fleshing out thoroughly to find the true behavioral cause. This exposure’s main focus is conversing with how the victims were treated and how the academic authorities gone low without a care but their reputable stakes, especially when they acknowledged those general occurrences. It’s provocative under shock, respectfully approached, and ethically edged with built credibility. (B+) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Audience Member This movie is a must see for all freshman college students. Zero tolerance for sexual assault! Women beware and courageous! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Superb documentary about what is REALLY going on on college and university campuses in the US (and around the world). A MUST SEE for parents sending their daughters/sons off to school. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Documenting the twisted way colleges handle sexual assault and rapes on campus. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Thorough, in-depth, and shocking, even watching it five years later. Required viewing for any high school senior. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Disgusting and cynical, this is an advocacy doc that ignores facts and glorifies proven liars.
