John Serba Decider So grim it's silly. But it's also highly watchable escapist entertainment. Apr 27, 2020 Full Review Pablo Vázquez El Pais (Spain) Although the story isn't very strong and sometimes lost itself in unnecessary subplots, there's a mark of professionalism. Luis M. D Although effective, the plot here is much less credible than the first installment. The killer here is not a lonely madman, but a well organized diabolical sect that seems to have existed through centuries. Even if you accept that this conspiracy can exist in the XXI century, it's very hard to believe that it can run undetected for so long in a small provincial town where everyone knows everyone. Yet this movie is faster than the first one and still maintains the dark and folksy atmosphere with its visuals. It makes for a good entertaining. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Georgan G Overall somewhat entertaining. However the plot jumped around until halfway, when it started to make sense. Supernatural is not usually for me, so perhaps others will enjoy it more. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/16/23 Full Review T T It's the second part of Baztan trilogy. It's much better than the first part, "The Invisible Guardian". Still though, the same problem persists with the main protagonist who is the lead detective. She is unconvincing, incompetent, whiney, unlikeable, and annoying. Other than that, the story is progressing well and coming together, which is a huge improvement from the first part which was below average. As with the first part though, the cinematography is good. Hopefully, the third and final part, "Offering to the Storm", will be as good as this second installment or even better. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review william h Riveting, with both sympathetic and odious characters. Superb cinematography. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Legacy if the bones is the first film on a trilogy about a Spanish town that is full of witchcraft and magic. Or is it and people are just obsessed? Pretty interesting and entertaining. A little fast diálogo , had to puse and rewind some 7/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Late R Whilst its predecessor ‘The Invisible Guardian' was a murder mystery with a bit of Basque folklore thrown in that only ended up confusing and detracting from the main narrative, ‘The Legacy of The Bones' – a direct sequel -- decides to go all in: this time around the local folklore goes hand-in-hand with the mystery and is integral to it. That makes the story a little more extreme and even less believable, but also means that it works better as a whole. There are still a number of things that detract from the main narrative, but overall, the equally grim sequel is tenser, easier to follow and more entertaining, even if it's also more melodramatic and a still too long.
