TheMovieSearch R The Leprechaun’s Game, also known as The Leprechaun’s Curse—for reasons I can’t quite figure out—feels like a movie that doesn’t know what it wants to be. Lately, it seems like films with multiple titles are popping up everywhere, and while that’s confusing, it’s honestly the least of this film’s problems. The director, if you can even call them that, appears to have no creative vision whatsoever. Watching this movie, it’s hard to believe anyone involved was thinking clearly. There’s an air of complete and utter disregard for basic filmmaking—like the director was more interested in getting high than making a cohesive film. I try to find redeeming qualities in every movie, but this is one of those rare cases where there’s almost nothing to salvage. The screenplay is equally disastrous. The idea of a murderous leprechaun could be fun in the right hands, but here it’s a mess. The story lacks cohesion, bouncing aimlessly between characters and scenes. People disappear and reappear with no explanation, and the dialogue often feels like filler with no real purpose. It’s chaotic, confusing, and exhausting to follow. Then there’s the Leprechaun itself—or rather, the grown man in a cheap mask and toy wig. The mask is obvious, the wig looks like it came straight from a dollar store, and the overall effect is more laughable than terrifying. Someone actually approved this? Whoever made that call clearly has no taste or understanding of horror aesthetics. It’s painful to watch. The acting is mostly awful, too. Almost every performance is stiff, uninspired, and lifeless. The one exception is the actor who gets thrown into a pole; his fear, while not perfect, is at least slightly believable and hints at what the movie could have been if anyone else had taken it seriously. Everyone else? They belong in storage and never allowed near a film set again. Overall, The Leprechaun’s Game/The Leprechaun’s Curse is a chaotic, cheap, and poorly executed mess. The concept could have worked as a fun, low-budget horror romp, but instead it feels like a confused, rushed project with no heart, no vision, and no respect for its audience. Avoid this one unless you’re watching purely for laughs at just how bad it is. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review Gray J The movie is so bad, rotten tomatoes can't even get its name right. The description and photos are from "The Leprechauns Game", the first movie. A 6 ft tall leprechaun in a mask that looks like a modified version of Billy from Saw chases some "professional " thiefs around for stealing his bag of gold. All his magic uses slasher techniques like a hamer that magically becomes a machete that garots someone. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/28/25 Full Review Audience Member This low budget slasher is a little better then first one and it does have a good opening like the first one plus it kind of picks up right where it leaves off. You can tell the acting is a little better and more better setting but only is different is that movie more about the couple and the main actress who is dealing something and a beautiful house and the friends are kind of side characters but so have some lines and killings are little better as well and even better creative. Even the man playing the leprechaun is does a lot better acting then the actors themselves but do wish he was shorter and the make up makes him more scarier then he looks like he put on a Halloween costume. The directing is not bad and cinematography got a lot better as well and writing too. All in all worth a one time watch and give a C-👍 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review Nate C Extremely lazy and the voice of the leprechaun is terrible. And it made no sense Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
