Rebecca (Mercedes Ruehl) was adopted as a child and begins to wonder about her past after her mother dies. Her adoptive father's new wife takes no interest in her, and when several years later her father also passes away, she goes on a quest to find her biological parents. She eventually meets a Navajo woman and discovers they are siblings.
