Liana Rojas, a creatively starved stylist assistant, discovers that the historical downtown Los Angeles factory building where her fashion designer sister mysteriously died is haunted by a serial killer posing as a headshot photographer for film studios who brutally murdered and dismembered his victims half a century earlier. This knowledge forces Liana and her friends to find a way to free themselves from the curse and escape the sinister ghost before they lose their own body parts. From the glorious black-and-white prologue to the grisly exorcism finale, director John Berardo's chiller is dressed to kill.

Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views While all the pieces may not fit perfectly, writer and director John Berardo’s sophomore feature, “The Mannequin” (2025), still comes together nicely. Sydney E A smart indie horror with a unique take on possession and horror. Berardo captures the intimacy of female friendships with class and blood-soaked scares. A great Halloween watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/07/25 Full Review Jack C Creepy, clever, and surprisingly good! The Mannequin is one of those indie horror films that reminds you why you love discovering new voices in the genre. Isabella Gomez delivers a captivating performance as does the rest of the outstanding cast while writer/director John Berardo delivers a clever and entertaining story. The Mannequin is incredible — stylish, moody, and full of tension. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/07/25 Full Review Sammie P Fun thrilling and fill of great moments of action but also stillness. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/31/25 Full Review Luna F If you like a fun horror flick with heart, I highly recommend "The Mannequin." While it's not reinventing the wheel, it's definitely worth the 85 minutes with great performances from Gomez and LaVanchy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/31/25 Full Review Miles Q The Mannequin turns a simple haunted-building premise into a taut, stylish nightmare. What makes it stand out is its visual control and psychological edge, balancing horror with a strange, hypnotic beauty. It’s a sharp, unsettling descent into fear, image, and stillness. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/31/25 Full Review Sam p This is so lame. Not at all scary. Fell asleep in several parts. Stupid story that makes no sense at all. Women get killed then they haunt a warehouse and kill more women. Such a dumb lazy example of bad writing. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/25 Full Review Read all reviews
