Anthony Kao Cinema Escapist "The film certainly signals lofty ambitions. Yet, as in politics, ambition does not necessarily translate into results." Aug 14, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member A bit hamfisted with its themes at times, laden with classical bad guy laughs from villains ('good people' never laugh), and the suspension of disbelief tossed as events upon events pile up. But although less would have been more, the movie is smart and entertaining. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This well directed and beautifully staged Korean drama about a ruthless mayor's campaign for a third term en route to a run at the presidency has twists and turns that lure us in to care about a collection of damaged and at times reprehensible politicians. A fine and entertaining film, politics in Seoul are revealed to have few morals and fewer rules; but the sum total of all the parts in this subtitled film are well worth the time invested.
