The story of a part-time dominatrix who owes $500k plus interest to a loan shark is made memorable by its main character, Ava Moriarty. She is witty and convincing, very capably played by actress Lorrisa Julianus. Backing her up on her journey are an Episcopal priest (played by Mickey O'Sullivan, who I swore was Serbian) and several other colorful characters. I laughed several times while watching this (intentionally). It's a very well-written movie with a unique viewpoint and taut dialogue. I would love to see more adventures with the main character, Ava. She's a perfect blend of heart, intelligence, and smart-ass retorts. I enjoyed the art/forgery subplot and thought it blended well with the rest of the unfolding story. Lorissa Julianus (who both wrote the script and took on the lead character of Ava) is a creative force to be reckoned with. Watch this movie; you will not be disappointed.

I straight-up vibed with this flick for mad reasons. Real talk, I had no clue what I was gettin' into... it kicks off all fun and playful, then hits you with mad twists and reveals that take it deep, all while keeping that quirky vibe. It's like it's juggling genres like it's nothing – going from comedy to crime, poignant drama to straight-up romance, smooth as butter. The main peeps got that undeniable chemistry, and I was ridin' with them right from the jump. This joint is pure entertainment, with surprises poppin' up left and right. No doubt, gotta give it a solid cosign – highly recommend checkin' it out!

The Misadventures of Mistress Maneater, directed by C.J. Julianus, is a solid, well-acted film. It is a unique romantic comedy. The lead actress, Lorissa Julianus, is talented and believable in the role of Ava. I was pleasantly surprised by the heart of this film. Nice twist at the end too. If you enjoy off-the-wall romantic comedies, check this out.

I was so pleasantly surprised by both the production value and some of the genuine laughs of this film. This was not a tiny story to tell, and the filmmaker did it with vigor and commitment, which I totally appreciated as a viewer! It was a way bigger film than most indie companies try to tackle, which is impressive in and of itself! The cast is strong, and funny -- there were more than a few laugh out loud moments in the script, well-delivered by the cast. Which isn't to say it didn't have its more emotional moments, it did -- again, well handled. Overall, it was a fun romp of a film, with a game and talented cast, a supportive score, and a higher budget feel!

The Misadventures of Mistress Maneater is an action, drama and a comedy - all-in-one. Spiraling around the traditional money vs decency dilemma, the film however has a very intriguing plot and reveals a lot of very dark secrets in the lives of the characters. I liked that the tense dramatic moments were often finished up with sarcasm and humor, saving the film from going too far into the dark end.

In Mistress Maneater, body language does the acting. Whether it be face or biceps, it tells a story. Ava can do a page of dialogue with just her face, and this is matched with Shannon Brown and Mickey O'Sullivan.
