Making a film difficult to see is not a substitution for creating a heavy atmosphere, unfortunately. But fortunately the truly excellent performances and the decently appropriate soundtrack keep you interested through most of the running time.

Lol, I was tricked into watching this movie. I wanted to learn more about the reference of the monkey's paw. So I found this movie, and, all the while, I kept thinking that this movie is too weak to have spawned any references. Turns out the real source of the reference is a short story written a long time ago. That makes more sense. This movie was as cheap and illogical as they come.

When the gore happens it's really good, and the acting is pretty good as well. However, there is so much filler gaps that it is easy to lose interest between the few good parts. Sadly, this was a pretty predictable movie.

The classic story of monkeys paw, turned into a sequel over 100 years later. The story is pretty much the same, but this time it tries to turn into a slasher type of film. May not be Freddy or Jason, but not too shabby. Could have used several more rewrites to make half the scenes relevant, but as far as horrible horror films on Netflix goes, you could do worse.
