Stace E 11/07/2024 These are good actors and yet most of the performances in this movie aren't good - very stagey and overdone. Possibly this is the fault of the dreadful script which is cliched and stilted. Another irritating feature is that the camera is all over the place. Hand held? It's like it's been shot on a phone video. Really, don't bother with this one. See more nick s @Nick_S 10/31/2023 Great sets, costumes and makeup. And the acting on average was fairly good. What I did find very distracting was the camera work. It kept pulling me out of the fantasy. The shots bounced around like a commercial, rapidly changing angles for no good reason. See more 11/13/2021 obvious plot but pretty to look at See more 09/06/2021 Oh come now. 33% audience rating? Really? I'm no cinephile - just an ordinary viewer - but I thought this was a fine film. Well acted by people new to me on film (I'm not Australian) - fine scenery and costumes —- intriguing characters — a plot that kept me going and didn't disappoint me in the end (no ‘magic explanations' pulled out of a hat to brush away a bunch of loose ends) — it all fit together and made sense. Underlying it all was the kind of explanation for everybody's motives that you could plausibly have guessed (at least in outline) but which in the end was really satisfying when revealed. Also, a good bit of moral ambiguity throughout. Including at the end (no plot reveal here, I hope), when a conspiracy of silence may or may not do justice to the rights of one of the characters.
