Alain E @AlainE Nov 25 It’s worth a view, but is there a message? The heroine has an accomplished career as a lifeguard in an indoors swimming pool, mostly for children. She is a single woman in her early thirties. Goes out a lot and at some point gets fixated on a married man who is a functionary in the French Socialist party. Initially, he doesn’t respond to her advances, but eventually they start an affair. American filmmakers could watch this movie and learn how you can shoot simulated sex with undressed actors showing no critical parts. I am referring to American movies showing adults supposedly having sex while the woman wears a bra. At some point his wife kicks him out, but the two lovers fail to connect at the critical moment. Next we see the heroine shopping in advanced pregnancy. Continues to show the maturity of a five year old. When she gets stressed in the store she reaches for a cigarette! She gets kicked out. In the last scene the two lovers finally meet again. Happy ending??? (Rotten Tomatoes selected a non representative picture of two women grabbing each other. The heroine is not a lesbian. Just completely confused.) She falls in love with him, and decides to wait for him to fall in love with her. Typically french, but the whole story just seemed a little too unrealistic for me See more 02/26/2008 Good French drama about relationships, the lead character is often dislikeable, but it seems to make the film more endearing See more 02/21/2008 Genial, a mourir de rire et tellement vrai ! See more Read all reviews
