Michael C The late Barbara Stanwyck's last film role was not terrible, but it was not all that good either. This 1964 psychological thriller was really nothing we have not seen before. I will admit it does have a few surprises at the end that I did not see coming. That made the movie a little more enjoyable for me. Stanwyck is the highlight of "The Night Walker". She gives the best performance in the film. That does not mean the other actors were bad however. When the movie was over I just felt that it was OK. I have seen better I have seen worse. That being said I just can't give the movie a stronger recommendation. If you decide to the "The Night Walker" I don't think you will think you have wasted your time, you just won't be that impressed. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/24 Full Review CodyZamboni Watchable, but cheap, TV movie level production, propped up by veterans Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Taylor Has some creepy images and effective makeup fx but not enough for the movie to achieve takeoff speed. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/19/23 Full Review Dallas H Geez! I would be dreaming nightmares if I watched this movie as a kid. The wedding scene with the wax figures and the half-melted older husband is an obvious candidate for nightmare fuel. This entire movie appears to be William Castle trying to make his best attempt at an Alfred Hitchcock story while retaining his usual scares. Of course, I loved this movie! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/17/23 Full Review William R. P The house blew up. I blinked and missed it Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/17/23 Full Review Steve D Sad this is the end for Barbara in film but it is a solid sendoff that gives her a lot to do. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Mostly forgotten thriller that is rarely shown on TV nor has it been available on DVD. Odd because this is Stanwyck's final film (everything after that was TV), it is William Castle as director after all, and the other cast are memorable. Twist ending, lots of screams, dream sequences, etc. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
