dave d Another sign our world is devolving from Alex Winter in this feature documentary. Trillions are stored in off-shore bank accounts to avoid taxation. If this film taught me one thing, it is that being rich is much different than being elite. The film loses a touch of steam as it gets stuck in the mud with the same narrative. The Panama Papers exposed corruption, but it is all similar in scope. The movie is totally worthwhile and important and anger inducing. We probably don't want to see what is really behind the curtain. Final Score: 8/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/03/23 Full Review Taylor S read the pandora papers!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/25/23 Full Review patrick f This movie is a good primer for people who don't know too much about the Panama Papers. It is a great testament to the efforts of hundreds of brave journalist and one still unknown whistleblower. I hope this film and the papers themselves leads to much needed change in the world. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review tom g Not awesome, but interesting. An insight into the offshore world of financial and legal skulduggery for the mega-rich, although I'm not sure the real rich play in Panama. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't find out about this movie until early 2021. Doesn't change how relevant these issues are. Pretty shocking evidence, but are we really surprised? A must watch for anyone that's a fan of politics, journalism, or the worlds economy. Better yourself with a watch. Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times a reminder of the important work reporters do in fighting abuses of power and the way that work is evolving in an increasingly fractured global landscape. Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Owen Gleiberman Variety The Panama Papers is a lively and level-headed exposé, but it's also a moral inquiry into how the top echelon is now united, structurally and spiritually, in robbing the rest of us blind. Oct 19, 2018 Full Review Graeme Tuckett Stuff.co.nz The Panama Papers is a decent primer to the events, which, even five years later, will still have you shaking your head in disbelief. Aug 23, 2021 Full Review Pat Mullen POV Magazine Alex Winter is quickly becoming a master of something one could call the techno-thriller documentary. May 22, 2019 Full Review Lorry Kikta Film Threat The most critical element of Winter's documentary is not the scandal itself, but the fact that hundreds of journalists from around the world were able to work together to expose this corruption, despite the consequences, and their egos. Rated: 9/10 Jan 15, 2019 Full Review Louis Proyect Counterpunch.org A close and inspiring look at the network of investigative reporters who made the Panama Papers a historic breakthrough against the plutocrats who rule the world.
