Audience Member Not the best movie you’ll see but it entertained me as a teenager. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/23 Full Review David W One of my favourite post Norris golden era martial arts dramas. I use the word drama in the context that the story both demands and receives an actual actor. Speakman was the star who never truly was. As a Kenpo master he had all the martial arts skills you wanted in a lead star, he looked the part and was an accomplished actor. That's right, unlike contemporaries such as Seagal he could actually act. This was a superior star in a very good movie for its ilk, the supporting cast including Hong, Prof Tanaka and the legendary Mako are also excellent yet it never got the credit it deserved. Life's a lottery and luck obviously plays a major part but sometimes such an obvious oversight (and Street Knight in fairness) seems very strange. Anyway, I very much enjoyed this and have rewatched it many times since its release. A great beer and pizza, lads night movie. Even my wife who hates martial arts movies greatly enjoyed this. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/05/23 Full Review carlos t Minha opinião: Um filme de 1991. Roteiro: Simples Vale apena assistir? Para quem curte sim. Nota: como nostagial 6 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Jeff Speakman is a student of the late Ed Parker. He is a serious martial artist. He also looks a lot like the late Elvis Presley. These factors should have aligned to make a dynamic American martial arts classic. Unfortunately, the film is not all that well paced. Aside from one choreographed music video-like sequence the fights and fight choreography are a little flat. This is the best of Speakman's projects but it was not enough to propel him from martial artist to movie star. Worth seeing but not terrific. Any Chuck Norris movie is better in my opinion. Summary: Speakman is Great-the movie is OK Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Starts out interesting and promising but quickly turning into political propaganda.
