Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) It's anything but a balanced diet, but there's much to chew on regardless. Rated: 3/5 Nov 28, 2020 Full Review Adam Graham Detroit News If you can stomach it, "The Platform" is a funny and fierce farce with its eyes on race, class and the ways people can rise up for the betterment of all by working together. Abdullah J A shocking movie but with an intelligent and, in my view, honest message. The symbolism of the current social structure is accurate, and the shock you get from watching this movie is necessary because we have become desensitized to the shocking reality this is reflected in the film. If you watch it for a satisfying storyline as with any Marvel movie then you may not be fully satisfied. But if you understand that it's speaking with symbols then you'll love it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/20/25 Full Review Audience Member Loved it and I think they should get the green light to do the 3 one on Netflix please there is so much more we need to know on the outside like maze runner did Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/25 Full Review acsdoug D A point for originality, but it's basically just 94 minutes of people living in sheer misery. Not my thing. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/09/25 Full Review Darcy J disgusting, gory, brutal. would def watch tho Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/25 Full Review Daniel B Innovative horror, though I don't think I got the message. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/25 Full Review Marianne D This movie is well worth watching. Not just a horror film, but a real look at societies & how people treat each other. The Pit, a multi level type of prison, houses people who have been sent there for crimes & people who signed up to go there. It is never explained why anyone would voluntarily go, but I assumed it was because they didn't understand what they were getting into. Food is the currency- because the upper levels of the Pit begin eating from a giant platform of food. By the time it reaches many levels down, there isn't any food left. People kill themselves, each other & at the lower levels, resort to cannibalism. The idea is that if each level rationed their own food, there would be enough for everyone. Kind of brilliant idea for this type of storytelling. However, human nature being what is is, it's very difficult to talk the people on the upper levels to ration their intake, thereby leaving food for people on the lower levels who will starve. Prisoners are forbidden from hoarding food & every 30 days they are assigned to a new, randomly chosen level. It is gory & frightening, but also tells an interesting story. Cinematography was excellent. Acting very good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/16/25 Full Review Read all reviews
