John R One of the most disjointed movies I have tried to watch in years. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/24 Full Review Matthew M At the beginning the movie seemed incredibly interesting and I was excited to see what would unfold only to be disappointed. The story was all over the place and you never really knew what was going on even at the end. The movie had a couple of moments where it was promising but then it was like if they forgot what they wrote as the movie progressed. The character development is horrendous and to tell you the truth I couldn't tell you a single thing about who anyone was for the most part because of how convoluted it was. For example the sheriff is portrayed as a wuss, then he's corrupt, and then he helps out the main character. It just doesn't make sense Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review Robert E Someone really needed to review the script. Hard to understand that a sheriff won't take it easy on a suspect, when the sheriff had done nothing about the abuse and had photos of it. Also, the move references a comet event in 1971...that was actually discovered and happened in 1973. Lots of stars, not that good of a script. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Andrew M Good actors should know better than to work with John Travolta. His career is lower than what it was just prior to Pulp Fiction. This movie is garbage. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/24 Full Review Terry H Good cast but they had no script to work with. Flat, cliche movie. Poor dialogue throughout. Take a pass on this one. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Jose R Some dialogues on The Poison Rose could have been shortened, that way turning it more practical by simply going straight to the point; it is a crime drama with it's well expected quasi gun slinger shooting scenes and the main character was dealing with multiple situations that it got interconnected at the right time; watching that movie is tedious, it requires some patience; at times it makes me to recall the video game narratives and dialogues of (Max Payne); if it could have hurt someone's soul I did not mean it; again those dialogues on The Poison Rose that could have been shortened were a little bit uncomfortable; on top of it The Hair & Make-Up Department possibly they tried to make John Travolta to look almost like Chuck Norris at least from the distance; and do not let go on this one, Brendan Fraser (The Mummy) he also got immersed on his script, well done; The Poison Rose running time could have been just around 91 minutes making a difference on getting better reviews of an already well rounded movie, because I am not trying to suggest about turning it into an X-Men flick of a third kind Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Donald Clarke Irish Times Are you trying to be The Long Goodbye. I knew the Long Goodbye. I worked with The Long Goodbye. You, sir, are no The Long Goodbye. Rated: 1/5 Feb 5, 2021 Full Review Cath Clarke Guardian It's a preposterous plot, with a damp-squib ending, and like an episode of Dallas, the dialogue gets phonier and phonier. "This is a bad place. Far worse than you can imagine." Ditto the film. Rated: 1/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Rex Reed Observer Nothing makes much sense here, including the title. Rated: 1/4 May 28, 2019 Full Review John Sooja Common Sense Media This unsuccessful attempt at modern noir is painfully stale, obviously plotted, and incredibly boring. Rated: 2/5 Oct 25, 2022 Full Review Daniel Barnes Dare Daniel An onslaught of private detective cliches crudely formed into a movie-like shape, The Poison Rose is filled with twists but bereft of surprises. Rated: 1/5 Nov 30, 2021 Full Review Lucy Buglass Love Horror We've seen Travolta and Freeman in some masterpieces, but sadly this wasn't one of them.
