At best, everything is simplified to an almost childish degree. At worst, you could possibly make the argument that this film actually condones certain terrible behaviors.

...a fun ride propelled onward by strong performances...despite some pacing issues that occasionally slow the story..., it’s a darkly comic exploration of the time-honored tradition of intimidated kids making monsters out of mole hills

This movie didn't work back when it was called 'Teaching Mrs. Tingle,' and it doesn't work now. It relies on flat characters and fails to say much of anything about social media ills or nasty behavior.

I was lucky enough to see The Prank in theaters not really sure what to expect, had a ton of fun watching it with a crowd. Haven't laughed and been scared at the same time like this in a minute. THE PRANK starts off like a “classic” high school movie. Two best friends, drifting apart in senior year. Dreams, hopes, etc. Then Rita Moreno appears and, scene by scene, slowly starts turning the film in to something else. Subtle enough that it’s never jarring, but big enough that the ride goes in a whole new direction. Genuinely tense while never dropping the laughs.

This director guides the camera and performances with grace and precision, keeping us titillated right up to the final payoff. It's so refreshing to see Rita in this edgy role, kudos to genius casting!

I loved this movie! It truly was so unhinged all around in the best way without ever tipping us off to the Big Mystery. Really impressed with the direction and look and the balance between genres. And this goes without saying but please continue giving Rita Moreno all the roles!!
