Jay Weissberg Variety Pablo Trapero's beautifully crafted multilayered drama that's also his most enjoyable film in years. Sep 5, 2018 Full Review Deborah Young The Hollywood Reporter Trapero's ambitious attempt to strike a unique tone somewhere between serious drama and humorous daytime TV falls awkwardly flat. Sep 4, 2018 Full Review Michael Nordine indieWire Even when it inspires laughter it doesn't inspire much else. It isn't involving enough for you to ever truly care about how these many, many problems will resolve themselves, and not funny enough for the experience to be more enjoyable. Rated: C Sep 4, 2018 Full Review Denise Pieniazek Metacultura (AR) The Quietude is an interesting story that makes the viewer uncomfortable because it opposes the traditional ideal of family. Likewise, the abusive coincidence of traditional melodrama is excessive, subtracting fluidity from the story. Rated: 6/10 Dec 28, 2023 Full Review Yasser Medina Cinefilia It's a very captivating film by Trapero about the emotional bonds of a dysfunctional family. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 7/10 Jul 27, 2020 Full Review Jim Slotek Original Cin A soap opera on the surface, it takes a while for The Quietude to rise above its plot of rich, unfaithful couples, random sex and sullen, unspoken grudges. When it does, it becomes a story of big lies that metastasize. Rated: B-minus Mar 22, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
