As tongue-in-cheek as “R2AK” often is, it's not without its moments of danger, peril, and high drama. The most intense shows a team attempting to sidestep a whirlpool measuring 30' around and 10' deep and others dealing with equally threatening riptides.

Even if you know nothing about boats or don't like documentaries, you will enjoy this movie. It's really a story about the people who, some experienced, some naive, find themselves in the middle of a wet, lonely and dangerous wilderness and wonder what they are doing there. The determination, adaptability and especially the humor these folks display is uplifting and heartening. Besides, the scenery is spectacular and beautifully photographed.

It's uplifting, with stunning scenery of the Inside Passage, and not your typical dull documentary. You will be inspired by their perseverance and endurance as they deal with the challenges presented to them in a life-changing experience.
