John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter It demonstrates enough sincerity and openness to challenging ideas - letting representatives of this problematic movement make their case clearly and convincingly - that one wishes it were able to look at multiple sides of this debate at the same time. Jul 12, 2017 Full Review Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times The Red Pill (the title is a reference to The Matrix) only exacerbates [the] divide with its uncritical, lopsided presentation and inability to craft a compelling argument regarding a topic this controversial. Jul 11, 2017 Full Review Alan Scherstuhl Village Voice There's no doubt that men do sometimes do suffer mistreatment from the courts or from the women in their lives. What the film and the movement fail to demonstrate is any kind of systemic cause. Oct 4, 2016 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Unbalanced docu about men's rights movement. Rated: 1/5 Mar 1, 2019 Full Review Luke Buckmaster The Daily Review/Crikey A wretched, morally bankrupt documentary. Jun 24, 2017 Full Review Simon Foster Screen-Space Cassie Jaye's men, and by association the filmmaker herself, are not serving a greater good or inspiring discourse, but instead fuelling a social divide and dishonouring their respective genders. Simon O It's a great story, well-told. Cassie Jay comes over as an unusually honest person who manages (not easily but she does) to overcome her very deeply-held prejudices and to, eventually, really listen to people who are telling her things that she absolutely doesn't want to hear. There are very few people honest enough to make the journey that she makes. It is greatly to her credit that she does. And the way she then gets treated as an 'apostate' is shocking. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/07/24 Full Review Julie J Brilliant. What a wonderful balanced female film maker. Take the red pill, not the green, ladies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/18/24 Full Review Doug B I appreciate the open minded approach, backed up with fact-checking. Definitely worth watching. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Brendon E A very well made documentary which I'm not convinced any of the critics actually watched given their low ratings. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Paolino P I had no doubt this movie would be disliked by journos. Badge of honor. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/24 Full Review Alban K A needed perspective in a dividing society Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
