Tony S More of a Kung-Fu fighter, than a Kickboxer. Good use of Africa setting with really fitting comedy elements and comic relief characters. Bizarre editing choices, especially at the party scene. Movie goes off the deep end in the third act, it essentially gives up making a lick of sense and wrap ups with an anti-climactic final fight. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/24/21 Full Review Audience Member Better known as Kickboxer 5. James Ryan gives a moving performance as a South African promoter who goes to all lengths to set up a top kickboxing federation of his own. Those who refuse to join are simply killed. Story picks up with the news that the final Sloan brother from the first four films in the Kickboxer saga was murdered as well. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Sasha Mitchell (Cody from "Step-by-Step") had his character murdered sometime between the last film and this one, so there is a new kickboxing hero, Mark Dacascos, who needs to avenge his death. Dacascos is a much better martial artist and actor than Mitchell, so that's a major improvement over the prior sequels, but the story amounts to a standard infiltrate-the-villain's-martial-arts-tournament storyline. The only reason to watch this film is for the fight sequences, which are plentiful and decent, but like most American martial arts films pale in comparison to their Asian counterparts. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The worst movie in the Kickboxer franchise. The cast and the plot were not good. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Corrupt South African businessman uses deadly force to amalgamate all kickboxing champions into his new organization. Preposterous story kills off previous main character David Sloane by way of newspaper article from the outset; sure to disappoint the series loyalists. James Ryan is brought back after a bit of a hiatus in acting. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member The worst out of the Kickboxer movies, wish they would have kept Sasha Mitchell's David Sloan n this and a different story this was just a waste of my time.
