Audience Member Fine feel good movie which tugs at the heartstrings adequately in this tale of redemption Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member By now, everyone already knows that I'm a fan of Christian cinema. "The Ride" is a 1997 drama that was endorsed by the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. Was it any good? In many ways, yes! Let's start with the positives of this film: The story was very touching and emotional, and the film's message didn't come off weird or nonsensical, as is the case some Christian movies. The content was also very clean: no profanity, only a little violence, and barely any sexual content. Some may quibble with drinking and smoking being shown onscreen, but those deeds are vilified like the sins they are. Even the production values were outstanding; though a flick such as this doesn't require "Star Wars"-esque special effects, the acting, sets, and such were good enough that they didn't distract from the wonderful story. The only complaints I had were: the ending was slightly disappointing, there was a bit of unnecessary content, and--this is the big one--the film is not worth repeated viewings. So, my thoughts? If you're looking for an inspirational flick to rent from your local video store or library, this is definitely worth picking up. Unless you're one to watch movies over and over, though, "The Ride" isn't worth a purchase. P. S. Rotten Tomatoes staff, this film is rated "PG," not "R"; fix that, and quickly. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Its a good movie but its also sad. Its sad but a good movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member It Is One Of The Most Touching Movies I Have Seen Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member ...this was an important movie to me around 12 years of age, and though it is not a fav now that I'm older, I love the inspiration it gave me at the time. I've always wanted a boys ranch since watching THE RIDE. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This is my absolute favorite movie it has a great message and if you haven't seen it you should Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
