Audience Member Terrible crime drama. No real connection between the movie and the title other than you see the sister-in-law's T&A a lot. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This has a few great parts and a wonderfully bleak dark ending. Too bad there's alot of boring parts that drag the movie down. The main actor John Savage (who later did Deerhunter) does a great job and so does his female counterparts. The main culprit of shitty acting is the guy who plays the main characters older balding brother. The word overacting should have that guys picture next to it. Overall this is a good late night watch maybe with a boyfriend or a girlfriend. Something to watch as background noise. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Another Movie frm the Drive In Cult Classic 8 Moive Collection from BCI. The sister in law is one of those little known movies from the 1970's that slipped below the radar.the big star in this film is John Savage, who went on to star in; hair(78)the onion field(80)and the recent low budget horror flick;Christina's house(1999)this is about two brothers, one good one rotten, savage plays the good one.there's a love triangle, mafia dealings, and some drama.I'm not giving any spoilers away on this but i do recommend this movie as it is pretty good.the title makes it sound like an exploitation film, but it is'nt.its rated r so there's some violent scenes and nudity.the sister in law is a selection from the 8 movie boxed set called;drive in classics from;crown inter- national.i was very disappointed out by the ending. 2 Stars 2-19-13 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member "Money makes you blush. You have more shame over the dollar bill, then you do about your own penis."-Edward Strong (W.G. McMillan) The Strongs' are the worst brothers ever. One brother sleeps with both Ed's wife and mistress then chucks $300,000 worth of Ed's china white into a creek. While Ed sent his bro to retrive drugs without telling him what he was picking up and sets him up, possible to be murdered. Plus, they both have the worst haircuts of the 70's. Lots of T&A, as it is a grindhouse feature. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review jack c probably one of the only actually *real* movies from the Drive-in Collection 8-movie set. It's in no way a very good movie, but there are some very good things about it, like John Savage, and the cinematography and other technical aspects (including, oddly enough, Savage's score) are not the shoddy kind one would expect with exploitation fare. The writer/director, Joseph Ruben, kind of got me to care about the plight of both brothers in the shit of things, one having affairs with the brother's wife and mistress and the other brother in debt to gangsters, and while it's conventionally tragic it's got one or two actually gripping bits. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I was very suprised with this movie. It was very clearly an exploitation film and low budget at it's core but a better than average script and a decent case lift this movie about others of it's kind. I enjoyed the story for the most part...because their actually was one. Ruben also directed the Stepfather which was a really good movie from what I remember. While not without it's flaws this movie still works rather well. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
