Micky Adams (Kelsey Grammer), an eccentric has-been rock musician, loses his grip on reality as his record label looks to drop him and his new "unique" albums. In hopes of breaking out of the mailroom, young Charlie Porter (Jackson White) is tasked with traveling to the musician's bizarre home and forcing Micky out of his contract. Micky realizes Charlie could be the key to an artistic breakthrough and the pair's unlikely friendship grows. The odd but powerful bond helps both gain perspective on the music industry, life, love... and the space between.

Familiarly told awkwardly, and philosophically weighted eccentrically with a charming cast comedically building up the pathos, particularly Grammar's performance given unnecessary chops for a certain effect that doesn't dampen the talent he brought to the role at one of his best. (B)

I watch a lot of movies and TV. I'm sad I'll never get this 100 min back. The cast was squandered due to a horrible trope and bad direction. Not one performance was believable. Also the title of this movie matches a handful of movies with the same name. It shows the originality of what was being produced. I often wonder how movies like this get the green light.

Its not about the destination its about the journey. There was most definitely a story being told and it wasn't about the music industry, just the music. Great watch great soundtrack.

The movie is very good when Kelsey Grammar is in it. A few of the scenes are fantastic. However, the director never really made up his mind as to what the movie was about. The soundtrack is great.
