Michael Talbot-Haynes Film Threat The first half does a wonderful job at hinting about the horror at play, building up dread, while the second half over-explains the horror, leaking all that dread out. Rated: 6.5/10 Feb 14, 2025 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies This psychological horror thriller is as clever as it is unsettling, using well established tenets from the horror genre in its smart, incisive, and terrifying examination of mental health, childhood trauma, grief, and forgiveness. Rated: 4/5 Jan 22, 2025 Full Review Stephanie Malone Morbidly Beautiful Tense and unnerving from the first to the last frame, it deftly balances the conventions of the genre with an emotionally impactful narrative that will rip your heart out and shove it down your throat. Charlene S The story centers on a grieving father whose young son dies in a tragic accident—while in his care. But just as the family begins to process the unthinkable loss, something sinister begins to unfold. The husband starts acting strange. Not just withdrawn or broken—but like someone else entirely. What follows is a slow-burning descent into horror, as his wife realizes the man she married may no longer be in control. A supernatural presence-The Fetch- And it’s using his grief as a door. The film cleverly uses the “evil twin” motif not just for scares, but as a metaphor for the darker self: the guilt, the blame, the secrets buried deep in the past. The possession is both literal and emotional. Creepy, atmospheric, and heartbreaking, it combines psychological terror with supernatural thrills. Though it leans into familiar horror tropes, the emotional core and strong performances make it stand out. It’s not just a ghost story—it’s a story about how grief can open the door to something much darker. It does start to feel like a B movie at the end, but all in all it's a pretty good watch.
