What to Know

Critics Consensus

Paul Greengrass' cinéma vérité-styled medieval epic draws most of its potency from the evergreen rage of wealth inequality, but its mingling of history and myth proves more awkward than enlightening.

I’d normally argue for seeing any halfway decent film that isn’t a standard adaptation, remake, or part of a franchise, simply because we need more original films. Yet it plays like Greengrass is just taking a well-worn page out of the superhero playbook. Go to Full Review

Shot in bleak greys offering little by way of colour, on the muddy grounds or the cloudy skies, or the person of its characters...The Uprising is often hard to see or follow. Go to Full Review

Sergio F 28 min ago One of the worst movies I’ve ever watched with nonsensical details and a plot that gets more ridiculous the more you watch it See more Anthony 2 hrs ago I liked it very classic king is not good and the people want justice type of movie. Looks like the beginning of a robin hood type film. See more Tim M 2 hrs ago Great cinematography See more Marie 2 hrs ago The situation is very realistic. However, the camera motions around the film were very distracting. I realize this is a popular way of filming, but it detracts from the film.
