Alexandra Heller-Nicholas AWFJ.org The Villainess is an action film that simultaneously echoes the spirit of 90s Asian action movies, the cinema of Park Chan-wook and even Euro crime-thriller classics...and yet feels...contemporary in its unrelenting energy and aesthetic polish Aug 27, 2018 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times [The Villainness] is 2017's most breathtakingly unhinged action film. Rated: 4/5 Sep 19, 2017 Full Review Kristy Puchko Riot Material The Villainess is an ambitious, exhilarating, and harrowing film that does South Korea's tradition of top-notch thrillers proud. Sep 18, 2017 Full Review Lonita Cook KCTV5 News at 9 Immediately immersive, The Villainess has everything you want. Sep 14, 2021 Full Review Don Shanahan 25YL (25 Years Later) "The Villainess" spins with dynamic energy of wanton mayhem and operatic displays of graphic violence when the talking stops and confrontations begin. Rated: 3/5 Apr 12, 2021 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See Frenzied and kinetic, The Villainess careens all over the place with reckless abandon, where it hits manic, thrilling, dangling-off-a-speeding-bus-while-wielding-a-hatchet highs. Prabudhjeet A All the stars for the action sequences and every artist's energy, vision, hard work for this movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/22/24 Full Review angela g i did not like that they killed a baby but i did like the action in it and the cliffhanger ending sucked Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/17/24 Full Review Miguel M Absolute bloody blast! You get so drawn in that it doesn't even feel like 2 hours. It's almost as if John Wick had 5 puppies killed and his wife died in front of him 10 times. Revenge on top of revenge! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/09/23 Full Review Steve C Cool opening sequence. The hallway fight for Old Boy would not have been that good, if we're done like this. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review Arabtofu M I was speechless period. Finally, a Korean movie that does not have the typical damsel in distress situation. A badass woman fighting to defend herself, her daughter and her future from her past that keeps catching up to her. The choreography (all fighting scenes) was insanely good and the female lead did a magnificent job on portraying her character. Fun fact: she did a lot of the stunts in the movie. Come on, who isn't impressed with that, Overall, it's a must watch and highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Khepri N Camera angles are crazy!!!!! Great action film Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/29/22 Full Review Read all reviews
