London, today. A refugee washes up naked in a suitcase on the bank of the Thames. The enigmatic, sexually fluid stranger introduces himself to a bourgeois, upper class family. He is invited to stay on as an employee. The Visitor soon seduces each member of the family in a series of explicit sexual encounters. He will turn their world upside down as they are able to redefine themselves in new, radical ways.

It's as transgressive as can be, past the point of "I get it"... Awkward, snort-out-loud funny. Go to Full Review

The Visitor ultimately posits a vision of transcendence through anarchy, seeing repression as the enemy of social progress. Go to Full Review

Deliberately provocative and confronting (as many of LaBruce's films are), The Visitor is not for everyone. Still, one wishes that the last act packed a greater punch as the messaging seems simple and repetitive. Go to Full Review

LaBruce’s The Visitor is a timely piece of cinema that wants to shake up the white, hetero-patriarchal order of Western societies and get you off in the process, as long as that post-nut clarity pushes revolution from the bedroom into the streets. Go to Full Review
Zachary Goldkind In Review Online Apr 3
With The Visitor, it feels that La Bruce is repeating himself through pastiche, reusing old ideas through older narratives, puncturing them with an empty provocation that grows tired far quicker, culminating in a fairly gruelling 100 minutes. Go to Full Review
