Steve D Great cast and a terrible thin script. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Frances H What do I think of this movie? Not much. A big disappointment. You see Myrna Loy and Melvin Douglas and yo think, this could be good, but not a good script here, so unlike these two in Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House, they fall flat here. But Mr. Blandings had Cary Grant in the mix and a terrific script! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/13/21 Full Review Audience Member Okay comedy is greatly elevated by it's star, Myrna Loy. In this film she plays a high powered magazine editor, who in order to fend off advances from male colleagues pretends to have a husband no one has ever seen, which is where the comedy in the film derives. You might think this was an early feminist indictment of societal sexism, but this film is more just a light comedy that that took what could have been a more pointed satire and ends up being a rather dull comedy that's made watchable by virtue of it's stars, Loy and Melvyn Douglas (who plays her artist suitor).
