Kat M Godawful attempt to rehash some classic 80s teen movies. The female characters are horribly written and just don't hit. The whole thing is a cringe-ridden mess. Absolutely avoid! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Blue R Embarrassingly bad, these people should just give up on movies if this is the best they got. Obviously mid 20s actors acting out a cringe inducing hideous teen movie. Read it in a couple of other reviews but the female characters sunk the ship. Badly written so the actors never really stood a chance. Like really bad. Don't bother ! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review Brianna S Probably the worst movie I've ever seen - only watch it if you need something to send you to sleep. Still cringing for all involved, meant to be teens but they all look way too old and the girls are annoying asf. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/29/24 Full Review Maria R Obviously takes notes from the teen classics but feels like any magic got drained out of the mix. The female characters in particular are badly written and don't seem realistic. Just another badly executed teen movie to skip over. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Maya A Tries to reference some teen movie classics but can't get off the ground. The dialog is awkward and none of the female characters seem relatable. It's a mess, really badly written. I'm still cringing, Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Charli C Riddled with cliches and clumsily written - pointless filler - don't waste your time with this one. Carla Hay Culture Mix This Is the Year is yet another vapid teen romantic comedy about a nerd who's pining over his dream girl ... Expect to see a lot of annoying characters played by people who look too old to be in high school. Oct 21, 2021 Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound Filled with laughs, crushes and heightened emotions. Rated: 3/5 Sep 29, 2021 Full Review Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies It's heart's in the right place, and while I wasn't completely smitten with it, I thought it was cute. It was enjoyable and watchable. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 25, 2021 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Finding the slightest of loopholes in romantic comedy formula, this mildly amusing trifle subverts genre cliches past and present, but remains predictably derivative. Sep 24, 2021 Full Review Natasha Alvar Cultured Vultures A little more daring and I think this film would have impressed even more. But hey, it's still a feel-good time. Rated: 6.5/10 Sep 24, 2021 Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT Filled with strong performances and likable characters the story pushes all the right buttons but lacks the proper tension.
