Wow. As another wrote, it’s the best movie I have seen in a long time. The young female lead was stunning. I understand it’s her film debut. I hope this means we will be seeing more of her. I am, I don’t want to say I am obsessed with WWII but I kind of am. I watch every film re the era, and this is definitely in the top 3. Don’t miss it.

Just back from seeing this extraordinary movie at the Wilmette Theater: ‘Those Who Remained'. Set in 1948 Budapest. Everyone still stunned by the war and its aftermath. A kind doctor befriends a 14 year old girl. They are those who were left at war's end. So powerful, honest, human, and poignant. Makes you think…how did those who lived…live? Sad beyond belief in parts, but wonderful in most others.

Heartbreaking and life affirming at the same time. Feels so real, and according to a close friend who lived in Hungary at the time, it IS real. One of the most moving films I've ever seen. Hope it makes it to the major streaming services.
