Wayne K A solid science fiction adventure from director David Twohy, "Timescape" was originally called "The Grand Tour" and went through a couple of title changes as it struggled to find an audience. That's too bad because the film is an entertaining very good adaption of the C.L. more and Henry Kutner short story of the same name. A group of very odd tourists show up at a bed and breakfast Ben Wilson (Jeff Daniels) is in the middle of renovating. Two handfuls of cash with large bills convinces him to take on the tourists even though the place isn't finished. Ben and his daughter (Arianna Richards) discover these ‘tourists' to a small rural town to be doing the oddest things and can't seem to do simple things like tie a shoe, unaware of traffic in the street. Made on location with a small budget, the director makes this about the character and mystery. It's a terrific first effort from Twohy with a terrific performance from Daniels.
