It's a portrait of grief and devastation, and also of the ways in which the police and media can jump to conclusions and feed off of the public's anger and confusion. Go to Full Review
Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times 10/24/2013

A post-post-9/11 melodrama that only occasionally lives up to its noble ambitions. Go to Full Review

It does something a lot of better-financed Hollywood movies don't: It makes you think. Go to Full Review
John Noonan FILMINK (Australia) 07/17/2015
Directed by Jeremiah Birnbaum, Torn dissects the tenacity with which the media can jump on a story, manipulating the facts to suit a certain narrative, and by doing so, exposing buried prejudices in ourselves. Go to Full Review

Les N 05/02/2023 Well worth a look and a more than typical reaction. Good ending. See more 08/29/2020 I wish I could give this a million stars. An absolute must see. All the stories intertwined and kept you doubting everyone and yourself as you watch it. Every second of this movie had me on the edge of my seat. The story was so fast, so raw, and so good. The last 30 seconds is absolutely mind-blowing. Completely shook me to the core. Just WOW! See more 03/10/2020 Garbage! Propaganda! Pick the group you wish to blame . . . Sick to death of identity politics and this movie takes the cake. Five minutes in I knew . . . Should we blame the poor white kid or the Muslim kid? Surely it must be one of those from the "lower classes!" This movie is disgusting! Those of us who work for a living do not have time for this nonsense! A movie written and filmed for and by those who want to congratulate themselves for a job well done . . . while not knowing not a damned thing about the working class or immigrants, much less Islam! See more 02/22/2014 When I nod off before the end it's a pretty strong indication... See more 02/07/2014 Moving, intelligent, compelling and important movie See more greg r @itsgregsworld 02/05/2014 This movie spends every moment preparing you to accept no closure. But, hold out for the ending. Just. In. Case. See more Read all reviews
