      Critics Consensus

The scenery and the stars are undeniably beautiful, but they can't make up for The Tourist's slow, muddled plot, or the lack of chemistry between Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie.

Carolyn R This series is fabulous. I love the actors and the characters they portray. I don't find the plot to be muddled. The story is great. The cinematography sucks. There are so many dark scenes where you x can hear but not see what's happening … even changing from one locale to the next … still dark. Annoying. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Cynthia S I LOVED it 14 years ago; and LOVED it again when had opportunity to enjoy it again recently. It is a joy to watch. I appreciated the storyline. & thought it superbly directed. All the actors were fun to watch. A lot of heart went into the making of this beautiful film, that is apparent. . Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Karl N Not a great movie but still very entertaining. I'm very surprised to see such a low score. Absolutely no chemistry between Jolie and Depp. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review Helene H Liked the movie, loved that it wasn't all about high speed and guns... The plot from a spy / action / crime movie, just with more humor .... And Les killing Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Rated: 2/5 Dec 22, 2010 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review With a dash of humor and some Hitchcock-esque directorial flourishes, the film’s scenario could have been fun. But the production takes the lazy approach and leaves the viewer palpably aware of it. Rated: 2/4 Aug 3, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies But even with its good-looking cast and locations, “The Tourist” is too shallow, too flat, and ultimately forgettable. Rated: 2/5 Aug 27, 2022 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) The Tourist is not an absolute debacle, and was able to entertain a tolerant audience.
