As World War II rages, a teenage boy in Germany is forced to confront a terrible truth--loyalty to his country now means loyalty to a lie. When his trusted bishop urges obedience to the Nazi regime, he begins to question everything. And after his Jewish friend is taken away, he secretly listens to banned radio broadcasts and launches a resistance, exposing the truth. But in a nation ruled by fear, defiance comes at a cost--and as the regime closes in, he must decide what it truly means to be a good German.

Matthew Whitaker’s film never surprises at any point during its running time, failing to add any singular artistic flair. While telling a compelling story, it plays like so many other films about that dark time in not-so-distant European history.

If it takes internal pleas like Truth and Treason to shake folks out of the usual escapist mood and towards shifted mindsets and higher calls to action, then the cinematic experiences to tell those cautionary tales were all the more worth it.

Excellent movie. This movie shows what living under fascism really like. Angel studios keeps delivering movies that everyone needs to see. Unfortunately most people do not have a good understanding history. These types of movies reveal true history compared to the fake history of social media. Every generation needs to see this movie.
