Critics Consensus

Unfocused and unfunny, Unfinished Business lives down to its title with a slipshod screenplay and poorly directed performances that would have been better left unreleased.

Wesley Morris Grantland The movie gets dumber and more desperate as it goes. Mar 20, 2015 Full Review Philippa Hawker The Age (Australia) It seems to have been designed as a family guy's workplace comedy on tour with the boys, a kind of EuroBusinessTrip with a heart: it fails dismally on all counts. Rated: 2/5 Mar 12, 2015 Full Review William Goss Austin Chronicle The crude humor and cloying sentiment mix about as well as motor oil and vinegar... Mar 11, 2015 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Tom Wilkinson is cast extremely against type for an immediately refreshing aspect. Rated: 3/10 Dec 4, 2020 Full Review Dan Scully Cinema76 Unfunny, nonsensical, and utterly without purpose, Unfinished Business is dead in the water long before the 20 minute mark. Apr 9, 2020 Full Review Bernard Boo Way Too Indie Beyond the fact that it's laugh-less, unoriginal, and bland, there's a deeper problem with Unfinished Business. Had it been played as a straight drama, it actually might have been pretty good. Rated: 3/10 Mar 14, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Peter S Starts somewhat promisingly but slides into a tonal mess of a movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/27/25 Full Review Rebecca L Unfinished Business is this comedy with Vince Vaughn, Tom Wilkinson, and Dave Franco. It’s about three guys trying to close a big business deal in Europe, but of course, everything goes sideways. They end up in all these ridiculous situations — crazy parties, weird locals, and a lot of awkward moments. It’s kind of a mixed bag. There are a few funny parts, and the cast is likable — Vaughn does his usual thing, Wilkinson has some funny bits, and Franco plays this super clueless but sweet guy. But the story’s pretty thin, and a lot of the jokes don’t land. I’d say it’s okay if you just want something light and silly to throw on, but it’s not a must-watch or super memorable.
