Audience Member It completely panders to its intended younger audience and doesn't do a whole lot to justify one's time to watch it in its entirety. The cute factor goes so overboard that it destroys any form of substance. A major disappointment from an animation legend. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This stuff right here is just plain WEIRD. This is out there even for an early 80's anime kids film. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Trippy as hell and twice as confusing. Small wonder this gave me nightmares at 7 years old; the "living puppets" march alone is nightmare fuel at its finest. More worthy discussion might center around why the protagonist of this sequel is so whiny and unappealing, or why Sanrio chose to build a film out of a handful of really beautiful animation set pieces (at least one of which has no bearing on the plot at all) that only take up 5% of the actual running time. The 95% of the movie that remains is cheap, flat, TV-quality cartoon work, impressive only to the 7-year-olds like me who were so terrified by the good (if utterly surreal) material that the distinct lack of characters, plot and appeal barely even registered. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I was frightened of this movie when I was little and I remember not wanting to be turned into a toy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I think I probably didn't love this one quite as much as the fantastic adventures, but it was still pretty amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Probably my favorite movie as a child. I used to re-rent it everytime we went to the library until I wore out their copy. I finally found it again recently on (ultra rare) dvd. It was made by Sanrio, the Hello Kitty people, but it is so much better. I still enjoy it!
