Audience Member Ferat is just a piece of Ferrum. A strange, abstract narrative with basic acting and a little unexpected nudity and atrocity, considering the Czechoslovak society at those times. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member On the surface this is a blood sucking car. Looking only slightly deeper and perhaps it's nothing more than a marketing stunt. Digging very deep you might say this film is a representation of our dependence on the automobile and how it's sucking the life out of us as a society and the planet. All of the above could make for a fantastic film either on their own or together and yet somehow Ferat Vampire managed to mess things up. It's part thriller, part mystery, part horror, part anti business, part anti establishment, and part all messed up. The film tries to do too much and due to some poor choices, poor editing and a seemingly unknown direction, doesn't hit the mark. There is very little gore (though the one main goretastic scene does deliver) and nudity, while present, seems out of place at times. This doesn't bode well for those looking for a good horror film. As a mystery/thriller, the film probably works best. It has some chase sequences, plot twists and enough going on to keep you somewhat engaged. But this film works best as a campy horror comedy of sorts as it shows it's age, has silly dialogue, some crazy characters, and an overall story that is just beyond bizarre. While not a masterpiece, I did find there was enough about this movie to enjoy. While I wouldn't recommend it to anyone... I might still own it one day ;) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
