Chris Chang Film Comment Magazine Although the acting and recombinant twists of the plot dance with spontaneity, Rivette's mise-en-scène is precision exemplified. Jun 17, 2013 Full Review Jonathan Rosenbaum Chicago Reader It lacks the scariness, the mystery, and even much of the curiosity of Rivette's better work. Nov 12, 2007 Full Review Empire Magazine It's slight, contrived and conceited. But, oh, for more films as flawed as this one. Audience Member A really charming film which was engaging and watchable throughout. Really loved the stories, the intertwining of which gives the film a remarkable character unlike many others. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a particularly memorable effort by Rivette. The pacing of the film seems to be off as it results in a ponderous delivery of story and character. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member A somewhat refreshing french stage comedy with multiple intertwined storylines (& triangles). It starts off slow (I could not finish this in one sitting), but it all fits together in the end. There are many fine performances in this mish-mash collage, but the storyline may be too jumpy for the tired. [cinematografo.it] Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member so many interesting and smart details make this movie special. For example you can feel mood (and tension) of actress by here... breathing (and excellent work of all the cast). Theatrical? Yes, but it's about theater. Conduct of some scenes are so familiar for Russian old school (in good way). Great art directors work - pay attention to the colors in scene. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A bit slow. I just so happened to be in the perfect mood for it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
