      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It starts with an interesting premise and Paul Walker is as handsomely brooding as ever, but Vehicle 19's incoherently shot action sequences make it a poor substitute for his work in the Fast & Furious movies.

KEVIN C Paul Walker has co just arrived in Johannesburg to meet up with his ex wife for a possible reconciliation when things go decidedly wrong when the rental vehicle he acquires already comes equipped with a hidden hostage and weapon. This is a pretty decent thriller, although he's not nearly as fast in this one, but he doubles up on the furious. Worth a look. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly slow and dull, without a good sense of tension. Just a bunch of weird and creepy street people in Africa. It's strongest point was that it was under 90 minutes so there wasn't much longing for it to end. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Liam D While it's not as bad as critics say it is but it's just mediocre but the Late Paul Walker does give a great performance Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/09/21 Full Review Audience Member Got about 10 minutes in. The lead is incompetent. Never been in Sth Africa so just gets in a car and starts driving without having a clue where to go. Drops food, spills drink, tries to "read" a map. Pathetic. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Not only is the premise absolutely unrealistic, it is comically absurd. From the premise, the movie takes a fast drive off of a tall cliff. Putting Paul Walker in a minivan is just a waste of his only talent. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review r 9 Surprised at the ratings for this film. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Although the intriguing premise isn't utilised to perfection, 'Vehicle 19' is still a solid action film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Scott Foundas Variety Neither particularly fast nor furious. Jun 18, 2013 Full Review Bilge Ebiri New York Magazine/Vulture Vehicle 19 sets up a fascinating conceit for itself, and then loses interest in delivering on it. It just wants to get to the cool car chase, but by the time it does, we've stopped caring. Jun 17, 2013 Full Review Neil Genzlinger New York Times Mr. Walker's character is haunted by a troubled past, but the film would have been better if it had given him more to do in the present. Rated: 2/5 Jun 14, 2013 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews The degree to which Vehicle 19 flounders and ultimately fails is, to put it mildly, rather disappointing... Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 6, 2014 Full Review Victoria Luxford The National (UAE) neither Walker nor the script can keep your interest for the duration, with action set pieces and intrusive music overpowering what should have been a claustrophobic and tense experience Rated: 2/5 Oct 18, 2013 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue The script is overwhelmed by cliches and implausibilities.
