Audience Member The movie is great. The story is catchy, ooh it's soo Kenyan. I've watched it three times already. Maybe a fourth in two years. The setting is authentic, language authentic. Cinematography authentic. I just love it.👌👌👌👌 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie is able to focus on different members of Maua's community and show how they have directly been their politicians. It is thrilling to watch the story unfold, learning about the characters stories and lives in Maua. The director is able to set a somber mood throughout film as he focuses on various sub-plots which are pertinent to telling the story. People in Maua want to expose Amos of his corrupted ambition and are even able to convince Amos's wife to turn against him. I was always on the edge of my seat throughout watching the movie, constantly wondering where the plot would lead next. The directors use of sub-plots enables the viewers to gain a richer perspective of the events unfolding throughout the film. We are able to understand Kenzo's struggle more deeply when the movie switches to his perspective periodically. It can be confusing when trying to figure out how the sub-plots have a connection, but this is made clear in the film's climax. Overall, I think I would rate this movie an 8/10 for having great cinematography and storyline; however, there are plenty of sub-plots and unnecessary dialogue which can make following the events of this film confusing. The acting was good and had a vibrant setting, which also contributes to my 8/10 rating. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
