There are bound to be segments that shine over others. But even its weakest pieces are still entertaining, and the good stuff is exceptionally so. Go to Full Review

V/H/S/94 is the best in the franchise thus far; unforgiving, relentless and fierce, it will track well with horror fans who won’t feel the need to fast-forward any footage. Go to Full Review

Alfie L Nov 8 Don’t get me wrong this wasn’t a bad movie, it was well made, good acting, creative stories. However I don’t think this movie was for me. The first segment “Storm Drain” was my favourite out of all of the segments but I left this movie feeling uncomfortable and yeah it’s a horror movie but I felt uncomfortable instead of scared, the vibe of it was really strange. Overall a good movie but I wouldn’t watch it more than once. See more Horror fan 4 Nov 4 The first 3 stories are great but the last one sucked. Tim Treakle See more pietro p Nov 4 It's almost the perfect film in the franchise. The first three segments are great, the fourth segment is ok, the problem is the wraparound which is very bad. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Oct 12 V/H/S/94 (2021) is one of those horror anthology films that tries desperately to recreate the raw, unnerving energy of the original V/H/S and the found-footage wave that started with The Blair Witch Project. Unfortunately, like many of its predecessors in this franchise, it never quite sticks the landing. From the very beginning, you can tell the concept should work — the idea of piecing together multiple disturbing short films through the lens of a discovered videotape has so much potential. But the execution here feels more like a messy student project than a cohesive horror experience. Rather than immersing you in the stories, the structure constantly reminds you that you’re watching grainy, disconnected “clips,” and that keeps the audience at arm’s length from any real tension or payoff. The direction across the shorts is energetic but inconsistent. You can sense that the filmmakers are trying to be edgy and experimental, but the result is more chaotic than clever. The pacing lags, the atmosphere feels forced, and the editing often pulls you out of the fear rather than deeper into it. The found-footage aesthetic, once innovative, now feels recycled — as if the movie’s trying to convince you it’s scarier than it really is by shaking the camera harder. The screenplay — or rather, the combined scripts — feel like they were written on impulse rather than purpose. Each segment tries to outdo the previous one with gore or shock value, but there’s no emotional anchor, no real story, and no reason to care about any of the characters. You end up watching grotesque moments stitched together without any sense of progression or meaning. It’s clear the creative team wanted V/H/S/94 to revive the franchise and push it into darker, more innovative territory. But instead, it becomes a flatline of recycled tropes and half-baked scares. It never reaches the brilliance of The Blair Witch Project, which worked because of its subtlety, realism, and restraint — qualities this movie lacks completely. By the time the end credits roll, you’re left wondering how this series continues to exist as a franchise at all. It’s one of those films you watch once, feel nothing from, and never revisit again. V/H/S/94 proves that clever ideas alone aren’t enough — without structure, storytelling, and atmosphere, all the shaky cameras in the world can’t save a horror movie from collapsing into static. See more Hugo S Oct 8 "V/H/S/94" is the fourth installment in the famous horror franchise. Despite the uneven quality of the different found footage segments (with more hits than misses), this entry continues to deliver gory goods that will delight the fans.
